Taylor Martin’s “Georgia Weather” is 9th District Winner

GAINESVILLE, GA [May 15] – North Georgia Christian School senior Taylor Martin was honored last night at a reception hosted by Congressman Doug Collins (GA-09) for the winners of the 9th District Congressional Art Competition.

Taylor’s piece, “Georgia Weather,” was selected by Congressman Collins as the winner out of submissions from high school students from across the district.

Second place in the art competition went to Brandi Jarrard of North Hall High School, who submitted a piece entitled “Noah and Pop.”  Sayra Camacho of East Hall High School took third place with her work, “Last Tear.”

Congressman Collins said, “There’s so much talent in Northeast Georgia, it was both a challenge and a pleasure to evaluate all of these submissions.  Congratulations to Taylor for this accomplishment.  I look forward to showing off this beautiful piece to constituents visiting the Capitol this year.”

“Georgia Weather” will hang in the United States Capitol for the next year as part of the exhibition of winning pieces from across the country.
