Northeast Georgia Students Accepted to West Point and Naval Academy Prep School
GAINESVILLE, Ga.—Rep. Doug Collins (R-Ga.) congratulates two northeast Georgia students who have been admitted to the United States Military Academy and to the United States Naval Academy Preparatory School.
“Emmi Schakat and Jack Haller have made their dedication to service clear, and I’m proud of their commitment to protecting our nation. These students have excelled across the board, and I look forward to seeing their careers unfold at West Point and the Naval Academy Preparatory School,” said Collins.
Emmi Schakat, daughter of Mr. William and Mrs. Mary Schakat, will attend the U.S. Military Academy in the fall. A top student in her class, Emmi hopes to be a soldier and humanitarian. She has excelled in academics and athletics at Union County High School, and is a member of its soccer, cross country, and basketball teams as well as BETA Club and Future Farmers of America.
Jack Haller, son of Mr. Richard and Mrs. Julie Haller, has been admitted to the Naval Academy Preparatory School in Rhode Island. Jack attends West Forsyth High School and follows his family’s example of military service. His mother and father are graduates of the United States Air Force Academy. Jack has siblings who have graduated from the Naval Academy, where his sister Cassie is currently a Midshipman. He is also Georgia’s 2017 pole vaulting state champion.
