Facebook and the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce to Host Free Workshop for Gainesville Small Businesses

Mar 31, 2016
Press Release

WASHINGTON— On Wednesday, April 6, at 9:30 a.m., Facebook will host a Boost Your Business seminar in Gainesville, Georgia. The seminar is free to the public and aims to teach local small business owners how to optimize their presence and engage customers on the world’s largest social network.

The seminar will kick off with welcoming remarks from Congressman Doug Collins and will be followed by a presentation from a Facebook small business expert on the latest Facebook best practices and strategies for success. A question and answer session will follow, featuring a panel of local small business people that will share their Facebook tips, tricks and suggestions. The small businesses represented on the panel are North Georgia Canopy ToursPendergrass Flea Market and Tap It Growlers.

“Small businesses—some of which have been here for decades—are at the heart of our community,” said Congressman Collins. “As a former small business owner, I know many of the challenges they face, which is why I’m grateful any time we have an opportunity to help the families who run these businesses, and give them tools to build on what they have established here in Northeast Georgia. Social media is one of the many resources available to help them reach their customers, and find their niche in our growing economy. I want to thank Facebook and the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce for hosting this engaging event to grow small business success in our community.”

There are more than 50 million businesses worldwide using Facebook to connect with customers, and approximately 8 in 10 Facebook users are connected to at least one small business in their network.
