Press Release

WASHINGTON—Rep. Doug Collins (R-Ga.) released the following statement after the House passed the United States-Mexico-Canada (USMCA) trade agreement.

“This trade deal is a win for American workers and a win for Northeast Georgians. By expanding Americans’ access to Canadian and Mexican markets, USMCA will fuel innovation, create more jobs for hardworking Americans, and enable greater global competitiveness. For Northeast Georgians, this agreement will strengthen the poultry industry, opening the door to new markets and hundreds of millions of dollars in added revenue.

“Since President Trump first took office, he has fought to strengthen manufacturing, create new jobs, and boost our economy. This deal is yet another major step forward for American families, and I commend the president and his administration for their hard work and leadership in negotiating this historic agreement.

“While it’s ridiculous Democrats waited this long to bring USMCA to the floor, today’s vote is a great example of what can be accomplished when the majority chooses to put the American worker above their liberal base. Now that impeachment is behind us, my hope is that today’s victory is simply step one in working across the aisle to do what we were sent to Washington to accomplish: Improving the lives of the American people.”
